What is MN NACNS?

MN NACNS stands for the Minnesota Affiliate of the National Association of Clinical Nurse SpecialistsThe affiliate is comprised of Clinical Nurse Specialist members, including students and legacy members, from across the state and the region.  Our affiliation with the National Association also affords many more resources to our state members, such as giving a voice in policy decisions and keeping up to date with national issues pertinent to CNS practice.

Become a Board Member

We invite any current member to consider volunteering their time as a board member.  Rotating board positions include President-Elect, Treasurer, and Secretary.  The President and the Immediate Past-President are also voting positions on the board.    

Current open positions for 2024: President-Elect (incoming president); Treasurer; and Student Representative

Students may volunteer to represent Clinical Nurse Specialist students on the board by becoming the Student Representative.  The Student Representative is a Non-voting position. 

Individuals must have been members of MN NACNS for two years preceding nomination for a board position (with the exception of students for the Student Representative position).  Any member can nominate an individual, including themselves.  For more information about the board and responsibilities, check out the Bylaws, particularly Articles V and VI, here. (Only MN NACNS Members have access to the Bylaws).  

Historically, elections occur in November of each year.  The inaugural meeting (hand-off meeting) typically occurs in January of the next year.  Treasurer (even years), Secretary (odd years), President elect (yearly), Student (yearly).
